Baru Dimulai, The Weeknd Borong Piala di Billboard Music Awards 2021

Matamata.com - Ajang Penghargaan musik ternama dunia, Billboard Music Awards 2021 kembali digelar. Pada Minggu (23/5/2021) waktu setempat atau pagi ini waktu Indonesia, perhelatan itu berlangsung di Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, Amerika Serikat. 

Di panggung penghargaan tersebut, Nick Jonas didapuk menjadi host Billboard Music Awards 2021 sekaligus tampil bersama Jonas Brother.  Selain Nick Jonas, hadir pula pengisi acara lain di antaranya P!nk yang menerima penghargaan Icon Award serta idol K-pop BTS yang menampilkan single terbaru, Butter dari jauh.

Billboard Music Awards telah memberikan sejumlah penghargaan meskipun baru dimulai. Guna mempersingkat durasi penayangan saat acara berlangsung adalah alasannya.

Taylor Swift mengukuhkan namanya sebagai Top Female Artist. Pelantun Blank Space ini mengalahkan pesaingnya seperti Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa hingga Megan Thee Stallion.

BTS juga berhasil mencatat nama mereka di Top Song Sales Artist. Justin Bieber, Megan Thee Stallion, Morgan Wallen dan The Weeknd berhasil dikalahkan oleh pelantun Butter ini. 

Meski sempat kalah di Top Song Sales Artist, tapi The Weeknd berhasil memborong tak kurang dari 9 penghargaan di Billboard Music Awards 2021.
